Being I will sit out on the water for several hours at a time, I need protection from the sun.

I used to bring lotion. Problem is you start to sweat so bad that all it does is run down your eyes, gets all over your bait and lures, and has to be re-applied constantly, which sucks to do when sitting in a kayak.

So I found Tilley hats. I bought mine here: http://www.rei.com/p.....airflo-hat

It is just an awesome hat.

I also use a buff, which can be had here: http://www.planetbuff.com/

Also taking a look at some gloves and a UV protectant long sleeve shirt. You are hot out there anyway, must as well keep the cancer to a minimum.

ok, I'm a simple man, I wear jeans and solid color t-shirts every day, that's it, I may wear a ball cap once in awhile. Can someone tell me why that Tilley hat B posted is 80 dollars? Does it turn your sweat into beer or something?

Tilley's will last a long time. Other hats will do a similar job, but will wear out a lot faster especially if you wear it a lot.

When I'm on the water, I usually wear a buff and a baseball cap. As far as sun protection for my arms and legs, I like bullfrog mosquito coast sunblock in a spray bottle. I don't like to use any of the cream or lotion sunblocks for the same reasons B mentioned, but the bullfrog is water resistant and works pretty well. A good pair of polarized glasses is also a must when I'm on the water. I have an older pair of Costa's with interchangeable lenses, but they are starting to get worn out so I'm looking for a new pair now.
