Around here, they make a world of difference when sight casting flies to fish. Most of the rivers I fish are less than 10 ft. deep in the summer, so a good pair of polarized glasses are a must. If you don't want to spend the scratch on a good pair, pick up some polarized glasses from wally world, even they make a big difference.

I've got a pair of Berkleys that cost $10 at wally world. They do a fine job, and I don't really get mad if I lose them in the lake/river.

ok, I'm a simple man, I wear jeans and solid color t-shirts every day, that's it, I may wear a ball cap once in awhile. Can someone tell me why that Tilley hat B posted is 80 dollars? Does it turn your sweat into beer or something?

they are very popular in the yachting/sailing community, but yachters love overpriced stuff.

They are supposed to be high quality and last forever, etc.

Also, if you loose it in the water, they will replace it for you apparently. That means that they have to charge you a few times the cost to cover for that
