My husband Andrew and I are thirty-eight years old. We are both hard-working, responsible people, but due to unforeseen medical expenses, we found ourselves in some pretty serious debt. With over $600.00 a month going towards never-ending student loan bills, we decided we needed to start thinking outside of the box if we ever wanted to be debt-free. One day, I was thumbing through a Cabelas catalog and found the Alaknak Outfitters tent. I immediately said to Andrew, "This is what we need to do!" From there, we set into motion our Tent Living plan which includes a comittment to stay in the tent for at least a year on our family's land in Norridgewock, Maine and pay off our debt. Without rent, electricity, cable TV, phone & internet bills, we will be able to pay down our debt in no time. June 30, 2011 is the start of our new life. There will be challenges, up and downs, and certainly some ajustment time, but we are comitted to doing this. We have the support of those around us... and we have each other. Real pictures of our land, tent set-up and new life coming soon! Visit the "Debt Reduction Tracker" page and follow our progress!

they started a blog, set up camp and the last post was in August, Iwonder if the black flies got them. Would have been cool to see how they fared over the winter

i think that household is run, managed, and directed by that young lady and it sounds like her will is buckling.

And the monkey presses the button.
