For me as a fisherman, this is useful. But I know there are many other uses for knowing the phases of the moon.

a lot of people still plant and harvest by the moon, in fact, I think the farmers almanac also had a moon planting guideline in them

I've planted by the moon phases and I think there are many other factors that come into play. Spring rains or the lack of spring rains being a major factor to me. Conditions change from one season to the next. I've had good yields both in phase and out.

The moon does have it's effects. If ya cut your hair during a full moon it grows back faster, fingernails too. Fishing during a full moon has been good as long as its cloudy, a clear night and a full moon has never been good for fishing, for me, anyway.
