My own personal tip...

 

If you see a group of people all in one spot go elsewhere. Everyone typically finds a deep hole and fishes it. There are fish all over. Use the tips Genz outlines to find them.

 

Also, fish shallower than everyone tells you to. Most people, at least here think you need to be at 20 or more feet. I catch 90% of my fish in 5-15 feet. And mostly on flats with deeper water nearby.
