This is the story of Juliane Koepcke, a German woman who at 16 years of age was the sole survivor of LANSA Peruvian Flight 508 following its mid-air disintegration over the Jungle after a lightning strike in 1971. Werner Herzog returns to the South American jungle with Juliane to find the remains of the plane and recreate her journey out of the jungle.
