For the past few years I've planted gardens and we have managed to have to move right before harvest time (husband's job). This year, I've decided to plant in containers. I'd love to just have raised beds but I need to be able to take my plants with me if we move. Anyone planted with moving in mind? Got any suggestions?

What are you hoping to plant?

Box car willies and red plum tomatoes, crook neck squash, zucchini, italian and blue lake green beans, herbs and some hardy onions that I think I can get to grow. All from seed and certified organic.

I'm REALLY hoping I can get it to work. I despise buying veggies at the grocery stores.

My sister grows a lot of different veggies in buckets. It works especially well for tomatoes and if you use sterile soil you won't have to worry with the many tomato viruses. She also plants in the hard plastic kiddie pools and in raised beds. With the buckets... she can put her plants in the garage if a hurricane hits.

I'm green with envy. I want a yard just like hers!

I envy her too because she's so darn neat and tidy! lol... I try but I still have kids running around, lots of farm animals and people to feed and school for the kids. I just try to be happy anyway even if mine is messy!
