When planning out your garden area this year don’t forget to set aside room for a herb garden. There is nothing like walking outside and picking fresh herbs for recipes or dehydrating for later use. Growing herbs is simple, inexpensive and saves a significant amount of money compared to a store bought product.
There are many different methods for building a small herb patch but one of my favorites is a herb wheel planter. Below is an overview of one that lloydhumphreys93 built for his mother which could be easily modified with pallet wood.
Start with a sketch
Set your saw to 30 degrees
Cut sections and assemble outer ring
Fill in the middle
Staple weed guard on the bottom
Attach slats and risers on the bottom
Fill with soil and plant

Herb Wheel Planter
I ended up putting it on castors because it was really heavy & I figured we wouldn’t be able to move it once we’d put soil in it. Source
