Here is a sandwich bread recipe that is easy to make. Some people don’t like homemade bread, they say it is to heavy, to dense, etc, well here is how to get around that.

Take a cup of warm water

Image

add 2 tablespoons of yeast and 1 of sugar and stir and let rest for 5 minutes to activate the yeast

Image

add 5 cups of bread flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of salt into a mixing bowl

Image

after 5 minutes the yeast has activated, add that into the bowl of flour

Image

melt 2 tablespoons of butter and dump that into the flour

Image

measure out a cup of milk and dump that into the flour

Image

Image

stir well into a clump

Image

and proceed to knead for 10 minutes, flouring as need if sticky

Image

oil the bowl cover with a towel and let it proof

Image

after about a hour it will double in size

Image

flour your cutting board and dump the dough out

Image

cut it in half

Image

form two dough balls

Image

and let them rest for 10 minutes

Image

punch the dough down into a rectangle

Image

fold 1/3rd over

Image

and the other 1/3rd over that

Image

pinch the seam shut

Image

fold the dough in half

Image

and pinch it shut, the purpose is to stretch the dough so it rises uniformly and keep it’s shape

Image

oil a breadpan, and set the dough seam side down

Image

I set the pans by the woodstove to proof for a hour

Image

the dough is rising above the breadpan

Image

take a knife and score the top

Image

bake in the oven for about 35 minuts at 375

Image

perfect golden bottom

Image

with a nice crust and soft middle

Image

Now to make some grilled cheese sandwiches with it!

so I assembled some farm cheese, cream cheese, some butter I made and the bread

Image

I put some cream cheese in a bowl

Image

the cream cheese would be to soft and the farm cheese doesn’t melt, so I grated some farm cheese into the cream cheese

Image

and mixed it well, making a stiff cheese spread

Image

I sliced off four pieces of bread

Image

and buttered them up

Image

I flipped two pieces over and applied the spread

Image

and popped the other two on top

Image

I heated up a griddle and set them on

Image

after a couple minutes, I flipped them

Image

and a couple minutes later, they were done
