Here is a quick method to build a beer bottle safe. We ran a contest of the month some time ago and one of the ideas was to store important documents and such inside an aluminum beer bottle. I thought that was a fantastic use for it, but figured getting items in and out of the bottle would be hard, especially if you recapped it.
I noticed on the bottom of the bottle there is a perfect circle design around it. So I took a hacksaw and carefully cut the bottom off the can along the line.
I cut a small section of exhaust pipe and slid it into the bottom to act as a sleeve
and jb welded it
looking into the top half of the bottle
two components side by side
the bottom slides up in and the exhaust pipe stiffens the connection well
all assembled
it’s not water proof at this point, but if you need to stash some stuff and place it in the back of your refrigerator it may bypass a quick search by a thief, peace.
