solar power water power ? | Alternative Energy | Forums

first like to say hello and thanks for having  me  i just signed up for this forum seems like a good place for tips and advice about starting my off grid homestead.

so my first question is i have a 1960 mobile home its roughly 14x60 footer and im looking for advice aswell as recommendations  on what size solar panel(s) id need run it 100% off the grid?we would be running lights a frig and a couple fans on this id like to off set ower grid power use once we get it back but for the time being we would be off setting a generator use but what numbers do i need to look at?

im looking for recommendations on the following 

panel size and how many?

what wattage would be good for the panel(s)?

what amp hour batteries. and how many in the battery bank would be sufficient

charge controller are all the same? or do i need a specific one for what im trying to do?

i also have an ol pond thats spring fed and up on a hill i was thinking about building a dam

and directing the water for a small  hydroelectric set up to go with my solar now on that

what would i need for water flow? i

i was going to use a generator or alternator off an old 6 or 12 volt tractor with a pulley reduction on a home built water wheel on that have the original pulley on the alt. or gen winch ever is better to use ? and a large pulley on the water wheel part to give the alt.or gen. more rpm at a slow water flow 

is this idea some thing thats a good idea to pair with my solar set up ?
