That's nice.  Its kind of a over the top version of mine.  Seems a bit overkill to me?

Well I mean I get why its so elaborate as its probably an all the time indoor unit.  To me the larger white pvc pipe to catch the water ect ect. Seems like you can/could do it better cheaper IMO.  I plan to have my set up very similar but just not as fancy as I am going to move mine outdoors as soon as weather permits.

Yeah I'm trying to figure out her plumbing, does this make sense to you? She says they have a pump on a timer to water them every four hours. She has valves on each level and had to adjust them so that water would go through all four levels. They are tilted toward the front and drain down into the tub at the bottom. Couldn't you just stagger the levels so you just pump up top, that drain to the one below, and it continues down through the system?

agreed, seems over-engineered.  They ran plumbing to and back from every level of shelving instead of letting each one drain into the level below.  It's a nice system though, and they can definitely scale up the production.

Still wish I could find barley seed around here...

Right that's what mine does it just drains from top to bottom bin to bin like the image KVR posted.  Yes KVR its real nice!!
