I have two water buckets with chicken nipples on them.

I just alternate them every day.  Let the frozen one thaw out in the house for a day while the other one is in the coop.

Stinks lugging them out between 530-6am, but I leave for work not long after that.

This is the main reason I havent gotten any ducks.  Not sure how I would care for them over winter since we dont have a pond.

Still trying to figure out what I would have to do to keep them during the frozen months.

After seeing the kiddie pool pond thread on another forum I'm almost afraid to try. 

That and the daily maintenance is what's weighing on my decision.

Didn't work in the big pond, went back to chipping. Spoiled rotten ducks, I'm really starting to wonder if she had clipped their wings before we bought them, should have grown back by now though.

Pour a few gallons of kerosene on the Ice...toss a road flare....repeat as necessary. 

....your mileage may vary.
