what a load of crock, her backyard looks awesome

The woman who sued her neighbor over her backyard chickens and garden says she doesn’t hate chickens, doesn’t hate gardens and doesn’t hate her neighbors.

Lynn Perry says she just loves her home and her neighborhood — and wants to protect its integrity.

That’s why she and her husband, Brad Perry, have filed a lawsuit against Stacy Williams over her backyard mini-farm, Lynn Perry said.

“I love our house — I love our neighborhood,” said Lynn Perry, who has lived in Trendwood for 32 years. “I want the integrity of Trendwood’s neighborhood to be maintained.

“When you look over at (Williams’ yard), it’s not a pleasant sight. A lot of people want to raise chickens or grow their own vegetables and that’s fine. Maybe it should be in some other place besides a residential neighborhood.”

Meanwhile, Williams isn’t backing down.

Since The World-Herald first reported on the lawsuit Monday, Williams said she has received “overwhelming support” as she strives to keep and raise her chickens.

I hope she counter sues and the plaintiff has to pay legal fees.

Interesting story.

I have seen villages around here that ban chickens and other's that are good with it (might limit the number you can have though and/or no rooster's.

In my area if you have anything bigger than a duck or chicken you need to have a least 5 acres for things like cow/horse/lama and there is a 100 ft set back from a residential structure...the concern is run off and trying to protect the wells.

...I digress...getting back to the chicken and garden story...made me think of when my Dad was in WWII the push on the Home Front here in the states was to grow a Victory Garden...if you didn't have a garden then you were un-patriotic and you probably didn't eat as well.
