In our spare time, and now that it's warming up outside, the husband and I enjoy walking down to our creek that borders our hay field. We've lived here for almost a year and just recently started noticing some cat paw prints in the same bordering the creek. BIG cat prints, or at least bigger than the typical domesticated kitty. So, naturally, we bought a trail cam and caught this gem. The picture quality isn't the best, but it gets the point across. Maybe this is what killed all of our chickens in one swoop??? Either way, it's pretty cool!

cool pic! You see any tracks around the coop itself?
Not that we've seen, but its pretty overgrown/grassy around the coop. The creek is on about the opposite side of the property line from the coop, but I'm thinking this thing either got them or a fox that HAD been hanging out in the hay field right around that time. I prefer the fox. It was so pretty and we really don't see many of them anymore, unfortunately.

I'm not sure whether I posted the picture correctely, but we've confirmed that this bobcat is wearing a tracking collar. It's apparently been introduced in the area by our local conservation department. This is the most recent picture and I'm hoping he/she continues to make regular appearances as we love viewing it!

Awesome animal. My neighbor at the farm said he had tracks around his chicken coop a couple of weeks ago when we had a dusting of snow. He tracked him for about 2 miles before he lost tracks in the swamp. I have noticed all the feral cats are gone.
