I wonder if the excessive glazing causes overheating in the winter? Looks like they have some ventilation in the gabled front. 

Had never heard of the bathrooms on the south-side for the heat.

I keep trying to convince my parents to build something like this...

I think it is suppose to be 20 percent glazing of the overall square footage of the building to prevent overheating iirc
