So we installed some pressure treated sill plates on our small shed on the side of the house
We decided to have it match our smokehouse on the other side of the home, so we framed up the walls
and threw in some cross bracing
we sheathed the outside with osb
and nailed down T&G 2x6 spruce for the roof decking
we decided to build out all the doors and windows with the T&G spruce as well, we mounted a barn track door on the shed
and hung the door, I hope to get this building finished off this weekend
we built a ladder and hung it from bolts to access the loft, I need to make a pulley system to raise it up into the floor joists
we finished shingling the walls and got them all stained up
the door for the barn was pretty hefty
so we mounted the rollers
and hung the door
we also mounted the access doors for the loft
and the side openings
last thing was to wrap the metal and make a cover for the barn door track
I think my wife is going to paint this weekend and at the point it is roughly done, i still have to do a finish coat on the inside walls but I think I am going to hold off on that for a little while so any moisture in the bags can escape through the gaps and such in the scratch coat, at this point that is the only real concern is if the bags haven't cured enough and there is freezing in the wall this winter
so with the long holiday and such haven't really gotten much done on the barn, just stained the doors and windows
I went around a touched up some spots on the bottom to keep water from penetrating the bags
after letting it sit for a day or so we started painting this morning
should be finished today
thank you gentleman
so my wife was getting chased by the bees we found in the compost bin, so I had to go down and finish the painting
we ordered some gutters to put on it, but besides that the barn is done
while I was doing that my wife was painting the shed
she decided she didn't like the gaps on the blocks, when we had built it when we had built the house we just threw our left over block together and filled the cores when we had filled the house walls, I raised it up a bit using 8 inch block and surface bonded them
I need to start buying stock in this stuff
so I let that set up overnight and today I should get it painted and shingled hopefully
