I used the Simpson TWB10. Much faster than a 1x4 but they do sit about 1/8" proud of the studs. I'm hoping that this doesn't show through to the siding but I doubt it.

Ordering the windows today and finished the decking last night, just have to rip off the extra strip before I can apply the Ice & Water shield. We've got rain coming in this weekend so I'm hoping to do it before we get the rain so that none of the framing gets wet.

Next: electrical & plumbing while I wait for the windows.

Alright. Got the roof dried in but forgot to tape the seams so I'm debating pulling off the underlayment. Thoughts? I don't think it's necessary, just a good best practice. The ceiling will be spray foamed so it will never enter the environment, just potentially damage the joists.

Likewise on the walls. I taped the rigid foam seams but not the plywood seams and already have the house wrap up.

Definitely adding to the mistakes list quickly as I try to rush the end.

I need to put a Z-flashing at the base of the sheathing as it's not pressure-treated (mistake list).

Then siding starts!

I also forgot to put in blocking before I put the roof decking on so that cost me several hours this weekend. I went ahead and tried to install it after the fact, not easy.

I also forgot to put plumbing in the walls as I went so I'm not sure how I can get it in now without notching. I would rather cut a hole in the center and not notch but options are what they are.

Thanks KVR. I realized that I just started working on too many parts at once and felt overwhelmed.

I put the Z flashing on but didn't seal it to the slab so that there's a drainage gap.

I used the dupont flashing tape on any seams that I could get to but otherwise left the housewrap in place. I realized that it's not at all required, and that the housewrap would become redundant at that point.

Roof goes on later this week. Framing will be inspected after plumbing and electrical are complete.

Roofing will consist of 1x4 purlins, 3/4" extruded polystyrene, and a galvalume snap lock standing seam.

Alright. Overdue for an update:

Got the roof dried in and the metal is sitting out front, they're just waiting for 3/4" XPS for an underlayment (this will keep the decking away from the dewpoint.

Broke through the wall so that I could finally finish the framing. This was a Kool-Aid man moment.

Completed the plumbing and wiring (that was fun). Went a little redundant on the venting after what KVR said. It was just two extra holes in the studs for venting the right sink directly. You can see some spray foam on all of the seams too. Tried to make this my air barrier if possible. We'll see. I've still got plywood in a few spots so moisture can get out.

Installed the windows. Went with the cheap ones and got a 2.5" wide perimeter piece so my glass is smaller. I was already going to have small windows so this is kind of a pain in the butt but too late. Next time. Also, no built in z bar above it so I'll need to get some for it. The design doesn't tie in perfectly with the old house but I couldn't have the window tops line up due to header sizing.

And just this morning I did the first round on the shower pan with mortar. I went really dry as I'd read that was best but I never had any bleed water and wasn't able to get as smooth a finish as I wanted. Fortunately, this is basically just the framework for the next layer. Went well considering it was my first time. Right side is a little steep because I didn't have the drain centered, that'll be another learned lesson.
