Has anyone done a brake forge on here? I just recently made one and could share what I went through to set up my own little blacksmithy.

I started off with a bunch of square tubing. My father in law gave it to me to make a big "shelf" type work place but I could not use it the way it was for various reasons.

You can see below why I couldnt use it the way it was. It was very uneven and it was too wide for the size of 1/4 plate I have.

I took it down to 19 1/2 inches wide so it would fit my plate.

I only had one big piece of plate so I had to take some smaller strips and lay them into place.

I decided to make the table 3ft tall as its a perfect height for working at my height of a 5'11. I also cut that circle in the table with a grinding wheel. It was "FUN."

I welded the cross braces and welded the brake drum to the table. I held up on the last side brace for the plumbing. I let the last brace kind of support the intake tube. I also mounted my grinder and vice to the table as well.

The Duke approves

The brake drum on the table. I used a thin piece of metal I had laying around and drilled holes through it.

The plumbing set up. All 2 inch.

My blower is one used for bouncy castles. It works great! Super powerful. Until I get heat tape, duct tape will have to work ;)
