my daughter and I laid the rest of the flooring last night

the pain in the butt part, the stairs

last piece, I prayed to the laminate gods that it would fit

all complete, ignore the body on the floor, it's just my daughter resting

I'm going to hold off on the old floor for now, been using that for cutting and will be using that for staining, so going to go and get the pine this afternoon and knock out the trim work and should be able to wrap up the floor tomorrow

well that was a bust, went and picked up the pine, had a list of everything I needed, they had no 1x4x10, so I got 1x8x10, figured I would just rip them down, paid the bill, went out into the yard and they had no 1x8x10's.

After trying to figure something else out for 30 minutes they found a lift of pine in the yard that was 1x4x10. So I went back in to get a refund and pay for the 1x4's and finally got loaded up.

Came home and took care of the animals and started prepping the windows and did a test stain on some scrap pine.

they gave me the wrong color and of course they were closed by this point, now I sit here and wait for them to open to get the right stuff.

well the stain saga continued yesterday, my daughter went through several different ones before she decided on weathered oak, so finally around 1 pm we were ready to get to it, back to the pine

this is why I need a workshop, doing this in the room is less than ideal but we set up the new space as the cut room and the old space as the stain booth

we had to rip down a bunch of boards

then my daughter got to staining them

we nailed down the base boards, I think it's a good transition from the floor to the gray walls

had a quick dinner and then started trimming out the windows

then went over to my brothers for a couple hours for game night and came back and cut and stained the rest of the window trim, this stain is taking forever to set and slowing us down. Oh well

Is it that it's empty, or that it's not yet wired for electric, or is without insulation/heat, or missing all three?
