I have heard that you need to be careful using pavers like that for a fire pit as they can deteriorate pretty quickly due to the extreme heat.

We have had the same pavers for our pit for almost 5 years now, some have cracked over the years on the upper ring when the fire has been really hot, such as the weekend leroyj stopped by

They are pretty cheap to replace, normal use it shouldn't be an issue though
