I have an 80ft white pine that has to come down this spring. I wish I had a chainsaw mill and a chainsaw that could handle the job. The first 40ft of the tree is nice and straight, with only 2 sets of branches.
There's a saw mill about 20 miles from here that mills logs. I'm afraid if I wait around until I build or buy a mill and get a chainsaw that can handle the job, it'll be 10 years before I have useable boards.
A solar dryer is a quick project, so I'll have the boards milled and dry them here.
