I had a set of wraparound prescription glasses because the overglasses always fogged. With that said, I tripped a lot. I would recommend against the curved lenses like these:
Instead, if you're accustomed to wearing glasses, you can either get the attachable shields or these (some exist with better coverage). These are what the machinists used at my college:
I never succeeded in finding over glasses that were comfortable. My long term solution (what I do currently) is just put in my contacts and use my Oakley M 2.0s because they give me the best coverage and they're ballistic rated (probably overkill but you only get two eyes).
I had a set of these overglasses that worked fine when looking up but the fit was not great and they always took my regular glasses with them when they fell off:

I think the distortion he talked about is probably related to how strong your script is maybe? I would have safety lenses put in Smith/Oakley/Suncloud type wrap arounds and never had that problem. But I have a very minor prescription. Truth is if work wasn't offering to buy them I wouldn't have kept getting them over that 5 years. Man that was great insurance......
