Looking for the pro's and cons of using a Single slope roof on a bermed house such as KRV's. I'm looking at that as an option. Deciding on a metal roof, I don't have the guts to do a living roof.

Thanks for any input.

seeing as how you are down south and don't have to worry about a snow load, I can't think of a negative, biggest positive is it would be great for a rain catchment system

Cool, I like the low profile of it.

Have you looked at standing seam metal roofing?  I think it last a lot better and has less issues than even standard metal roofing.

In terms of a single roof line I don't think you can do any better.  Think of the reduction in building materials, complexity to roof, etc, etc.  All that translates into reduced costs and ease of maintenance.  When we build our place it will be a single pitched roof.

I ended up building a 20x30 house with a loft, 2x6 construction with spray foam insulation.  I liked the idea of the bearmed house but felt i could get on my land faster and without complication going with a traditional house.  Ended up right at 50k.  I will try and post some pictures soon
