Yup, we have a propane furnace, almost never use it except for the reasons you noted above. We made our tank last over a year before filling it up this fall. They actually called us to see if we were still using it because they have never had a client go that long between refills, lol.

To be honest I never asked. I checked to see if it was code compliant and it was. Figured that was good enough for me.

We had 6 guys come out from our church to help cut up wood. We got a bunch of dead standing trees cut down but my log splitter gave out within 30 minutes of starting to split. Lesson learned -- check the couplers every time you start and stop the log splitter. They can go out and shred their teeth, which is what happened here. Pics of the wood and the splitter damage below. Should only be ~$30 to fix. I hope/think this amount of wood will completely fill the woodshed.

I wouldn't change anything -- except maybe covering the sides so rain/snow doesn't get in and of course filling it with more firewood! We had a major storm here last week that flooded many areas and the high winds actually shifted my solar array pole mount (more on that later). The wood shed didn't even budge. Can't believe it.

I plan on building an equipment shed for parking the cars/lawn tractor using the same techniques. It will hopefully be minimally twice as long as this and even deeper.
