K your comment on the terra tiles made me think of terra blocks. Or making your own blocks on site, it seems like with enough sand/gravel around you probably could, but it would depend on your location.

No luck on direct linking the video, my bad.

I saw some plans once for making a press for forming your own blocks, I'll have to look for it

That'd be awesome. They've got some blocks that I found here in Brazil that seem like a lighter and cheaper solution to cinder blocks (for where you're not filling them with concrete). I'll get some pictures and pricing up this week.

Mass: 148.40

Parging 15
Cinder block wall 54 blocks - $81
Parging - 15
3/4 foam sheet (r4) - 15
Corrugated - 22.40
(not including bond beams every 4' vertically, and associated re-bar and cement)

Has anyone played with hollow brick? It seems like a very competitive option considering the pricing here in Brazil:

$78.40

Grout - 15

Hollow bricks - $26 (126 bricks)

3/4" foam sheet (r4) - 15

Corrugated - 22.40

What you see here is the bond beams are formed and poured and then the hollow brick i used more or less as a filler for skyscrapers (presumably for weight?). Seems like you could use them the same as cinder blocks when doing bond beams as well.
