I am one of those that watches earthquakes, volcanoes etc. it as been pretty sobering watching the increase in frequency and intensity of the earthquakes.

The possibility of a decent earthquake is something I think about from time to time.  We have had about 3 or 4 in my region over the past 35 years or so.  There has been some significant damage to roads and homes, but nothing like Alaska or California.  Years ago I did contact my home owners insurance several years ago and I would need to be a separate rider for earth quake insurance.  It would be about $150 a year on my current home.  I thought that was a bit much and haven't done it...of course if it did happen, it would be well worth it...maybe for the new house.

I remember reading an article about the fault line in NY, they were saying if it did let loose NYC would be pretty much toast

...you mean we could return the rubble could be returned to Native Americans and the survivors could be relocated to Caribou Maine ???
