so got it back last night and puttered around the yard, engine runs strong, all attachments work great

it's got a nice little kohler cast in it

and he handed me a bucket of hydraulic fluid

that should of set off a alarm bell, but I was excited for my new toy

Well the power drops off when it's warmed up going forward, so did some researching and came across this pdf

http://www.manuals.c.....marked.pdf

so I checked the tank and sure enough it's half full and I noticed a couple leaks in the line, I then took a look at the fluid he gave me and it's a winter mix, it's 90 degrees here, that stuff is probably like water inside that thing and the pump squeals loudly when under load, same as a power steering unit will when it's low on fluid, so we are going to drain it, replace a few lines and fill it back up with the correct fluid and test it out, I hope he didn't wear out the pump running the winter mix through it, but I did talk to a local shop and they have a pump sitting on the shelf for it if need be

and look what showed up this morning

looks like i'm gonna have a busy weekend, let the games begin!

lol newsettler just talked to a local guy that deals with Case, he flipped when he said winter fluid, it takes 20w-50 motor oil in the summer for the hydraulics, looks like I'm draining the whole system

You are going to have some fun! Draining the fluid and filling it up shouldn't be hard. I wonder if the lines will leak as much with the thicker fluid. Let us know how it turns out.

will do, that's what I'm thinking, probably going to just drain the tank, fill it with the correct oil, run it through to try and push the wrong stuff through the lines and then drain the whole system and refill it

well the kid who was scheduled to do the work stopped by to drop off his machines, I hadn't cancelled him due to the power issues, he was pretty impressed with the little rig, told him what was going on and he listened to it while I puttered around the driveway, he said that he guarantees the pump is shot, said to drain it, fill it, run it and let the old pump work the new stuff through and if still a issue, pull the pump and replace it, so that is the plan so far, we decided to hold off till after the weekend to get started, it gives me a chance to get this resolved, ideally he can just shuttle the chips back and forth and I can use this to move stuff around, will report back later this afternoon

Why did I not buy that John Deere again? Changed the oil, it improved but still some issues, seems there is a banana plate on them that wear and go bad, talked to a member on mytractorforum who has a ingersol dealership and he says that is what it sounds like and that the pump would be very rare if it went bad, so getting a banana plate next day aired to me

he also recommended getting a loop hose with a guage to test the pressure, headed out now to get that
