so after talking it over with my dad, we decided to wire fence the the cedar, would rather do it and not need it, then need it if the pigs got out and kick myself in the butt for not putting it in, picked up 100 foot rolls for 50 bucks a piece, so it's cheap insurance I guess

we started by overlapping the corners by 3 feet

did I ever tell you my dad was the third blues brother?

layla came down to help, till she started eating cow poop, back in the house she went

couple of the posts are in really wet soil, think I'm going to go get a couple bags of cement and throw them around the holes to help stiffen them up

the cows came out to graze, one was playing hide and seek

we got it wrapped around the last corner

and up to the barn

and put some along our little stub fence, we hung the gate but screwed up the placement of the posts, there is like a 10 inch gap between the gate and the post, so we need to do some modification to it today

phil then came over and we ran a water spigot to the outside, my BIL is going to bring a ditch witch home from work and we are going to run pipe down to the barn

my BIL showed up shortly after and we spent the rest of the night getting stuck in the woods on 4 wheelers looking for spots for his tree stands, should get the pig pen extension done today

should hopefully get it all wrapped up today, swelling in hand is down and it looks like no lightning today, it's on like donkey kong!

yeah, never believe forecasts, a chance of showers turned into torrential down pouring and lighting for 6 hours straight

but we did get the wire up on the cedar before it got to bad

should get it knocked out today and I still need to fix the gap in the gate

pretty darn good, the yard is staying really dry, we should have run more drainage in the back field, there are a few spots that are pretty bad, not sure if we are going to do it this year or wait till next

so I got tied up with some things over the weekend, newsettler came over yesterday to help me knock out the pig pen, I have a bunch of 2x12's left over from the raised beds we removed

we started by nailing them up along the bottom

we were left with a few gaps between the old and new

so we nailed the insulators for the electric fence

and started removing the old one, I tried getting newsettler to touch it, didn't work :(

the pigs were getting interested

so we ripped out the middle section, I had left a 2 foot overlap of wire fencing and tied that to the old one

we used some scraps to bridge across the bottom of the openings

I decided to put the post back in for a rubbing pole for the pigs

so today is clean up and organization and on to the next project, outdoor cook area
