I was wondering who out there is self employed? I have always been able to find a way to make a living from things I am interested in learning, or enjoy doing.

At the moment i make the main portion of my living as a barefoot farrier. It came about mostly by accident. I had horses and couldn't find anyone to come out to trim them.

I took a class with someone that I found to be very interesting, just so that I could trim my own horses. A friend asked if I could help her severely foundered pony, I wasn't sure I could, but I said I would try.

You can read about the details on my web site.

I was so amazed that I decided I wanted to do it for a living. I continued my education and now I get to spend my working time with horses. This is a big deal for me because ever since I was a child, I wanted to do ANYTHING with horses.

So I guess I'm fulfilling a childhood fantasy.

Anyway, I really believe in trying to make a living doing something that you love.

As we begin to grow our homestead, a part of me is always considering how to earn even a small amount of money from the things we do on a daily basis.

I told danger about equine dentistry. They recently became a licensed profession in my state. Its niche but has to do with horses.

And the monkey presses the button.

I do have an etsy shop. My biggest challenge with that is that I don't really enjoy working on the computer, and the time it takes. But working that site is one of my goals for the coming year

He may not be interested, but I've been thinking about adding it to my practice.

I'm taking a break from school right now!

Here is a link to a web site that some folks in WV are putting together to promote WV products. I just opened a store on it, and I like the concept.

Good folks, good networking
