The interview went ok.  I'm supposed to hear from the guy today, but with the snow, that might be put off.  I have a couple other irons in the fire, so PRU is on hold for the time being.

I expect to get offered the job, but the money may be a sticking point.  I gave him my number, and think he's trying to work that number with OT and commissions, where ideally, I wanted that number to be a starting point.  I don't mind working hard, overtime, etc., but I don't want to kill myself to make my number.  My view is that my number is a starting point, and I think he's viewing it as an end point.

Yes.  Unfortunately, I think that if I want to make anything more than minimum wage at 32 hours a week, I need to go back to pest control.  Pest control will get me a higher wage plus OT.  The hours are less than desirable, but it pays the bills and I have a pretty decent background in the industry.

On a side note, the school system is looking for a media assistant in one of the middle schools.  It's a 10 mth position that pays between 17k and 33k.  I currently volunteer a little in my kid's media center, so I may have extra swag to try and get the job.  So I'm going to apply for that as well.  My wife feels that should be my first choice, but because of money, I think it should be my second choice.  My wife is a teacher btw, so we don't need the benefits that this job would offer.

Not sure to be honest.  I would imagine a big part of it would be based on education level.  ie there are probably steps for AA degree, Bachelors, and Masters.  A degree isn't required, but I'm sure they would take it into account.  Not sure if there are other steps as well, or if it's discretionary.  I would hope for 25-30, but have to expect 17.
