This looks interesting

How might your life be better with less? "Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things," a feature-length documentary from the popular simple-living duo The Minimalists, examines the many flavors of minimalism by taking the audience inside the lives of minimalists from various walks of life. From minimalist architects, designers, and musicians, to businessmen, authors, and minimalist families, this film explores various recipes for how to live a more meaningful, deliberate life. Not a perfect life, not an easy life—a simple life.

I never got the minimalist aspect of things.  I do have a lot of accumulated things from over the years.  I know a couple of people that are pretty minimalist...the thing in their case is they want to borrow everything under the sun...I think there is a lack of balance in these cases.  Definitely would be a challenge for me to be a minimalist.

I think like all things there are extremes, too much minimalism or consumerism can be a bad thing.

I try to be a minimalist consumer. I will run something into the ground until I have to buy a new one, versus people that need the newest and greatest thing each year.

I save every thing I can...you never know.  Reduce, reuse, recycle.

I am a huge curb side picker...I stop to strip hinges off trashed doors...I stop and cut off the cords from AC units and vacuum cleaners....I think my wife is ashamed of me...  🙁

for me it's construction scraps and any cables that come with electronics, I got enough wood laying around to build a house and enough cables and electronics to build a reactor.
