yeah, we had laminate in our old house, it was still there just not as bad. I think that has to do with our current house being half the square footage, I need to look into air purifiers or something.

Air Quality is a big deal to us too.  That is why we will most likely do the HRV system (moisture, air exchange, some filtration)  Haven't really seen a good quality HRV unit with good filtration as well...may have to go with a plug in floor model.

K,

I happen to think that the boulder retaining walls on either side are awesome!  Ya know... in case you were wondering 😀

The side door is nice on OUR house...b/c eventually I think i'm going to end up making a green house-ish thing in the "front"/south (kind of like an earthship but seasonal removable skin/glass/plastic. But in general bermed/integrated houses are not that easy to add on to for sure.  Which im ok with..cause this mansion we got is big enough to clean.

Re-moving your daughters wall will give you quite a bit more space huh..i bet that will be pretty awesome.

Yeah, I think it will help prevent some of the overheating as well in the home, allow more thermal movement instead of being trapped in the main room.

The following users say thank you to K for this useful post:

...overheating...hmm...Speed, you just made me think...you and K both have cathedral ceilings...you guys over heat with them?...will be interesting to see if overheating is a issue with my 'flat' ceiling.

It will be interesting to see but you got more square footage and have the door to the garage that you can open and dump the excess in there.
