I had a couple sweet old lady JW get me the other day. I was kind, but I'm hoping they don't come back.

Most people that come to my door see the rottweiler and are at least a little nervous. One time the cable guy showed up unannounced to bury a cable and must have had a huge dog phobia. Before he stated his purpose he begged me to put the dog away. I just replied "Who are you?"

I really don't like people coming to my door.

I'm with you on that one, I ask most of my friends to call first so I know that someone is coming around the house.

I agree...nothing like being in the barn and working on something and someone startles me...hope they can dodge a wrench...friends know to toot the horn and wait a bit before hand.

I 'second' the motion(s) that people pushing their religious beliefs are annoying and seem to have the WORST timing too. Some years back I discovered how to 'discourage' these folk by one simple sentence -

"I respect your beliefs and I expect you to respect mine." (shut door or turn back to them and walk away).

I am not a 'religious' person but I have friends of many different faiths as well as atheists too. I think the Mormon suggestion/dictate/mandate? for 1 years food is a dang great idea and quite challenging to have and maintain too! But beyond that topic, I really don't want to hear or talk about faith and 'god's word'.

Where we live now we have a solar electric gate that keeps 'strays' OUT of our lives. Hooray for 'remote' living!!

My personal motto - The Home, a peace worth fighting for.
