Had kind of a busy day today. We started a new batch of wine this morning. Then came home and I planted my garlic for next year. Inoculated and planted a cover crop mix of winter pea, vetch and oats in all the beds not being used for fall crops. Then I mulched the whole garden with straw. After that I turned in some compost and when I came inside I started some lactofermented red cabbage sauerkraut. It's amazing what I can get accomplished when I have two full days off on the weekend! Tomorrow probably taking the family pumpkin picking and maybe starting to build the new chicken coop.

We're making a blend of Tuscan grapes. We've been making wine with a group of friends for about 6 years now. We do it at a place that houses all the equipment. We order the grapes and they help us with all the destemming, crushing, pressing, racking and bottling. We usually will make a summer italian and a winter chilean wine, so it's been two batches a year for 6 years now. Hopefully I've learned enough over this time to begin doing it myself at home.

I followed your lead and I'm making a pallet framed chicken coop. I have the base and the framing up. I'm going to go with exterior grade sheeting instead of shingles for mine. I'll post pics when I get a chance
