I got my wood stove ready for using. It looks like the weather will be changing. I stacked some wood. Then I discovered that my saddle was covered with mildew! Ack. So I scrubbed it and will oil it when it dries

I'm not really sure. I've never really kept track. I would go through less if I would finish my room!

The wood stove is for my bedroom which is mostly glass. I still haven't seals and framed all the windows. And, I really like to be warm when I'm in the house. I work outside regardless of temps, and getting warm at night is a necessity.

That is a long way of saying that I probably use much more wood than most others would!

I'm having my first fire this evening

November 1st would make for easy record keeping. lol - I have a small two burner LogWood... picked it up at Tractor Supply last year for $200. Its not the greatest... but it the job :) The day I installed it last year... it was 27 degrees and raining out. For a eastern NC girl - that's seriously COLD. So, I am very thankful for it!! I called a professional chimney guy to move it into my new building (that I am living in now) but he wouldnt do it because its not an EPA regulated "up to code" stove. SO, for anyone looking to purchase a wood stove... you might want to look into the regulations and codes.. so you dont end up with a stove that might cause you troubles down the line. I will just move it myself now - but it would have been nice to have a professional do it since my barn roof has a crazy pitch.. but... alas.
