I like that we live in a place where there isn't someone breathing down our necks over every regulation!

Today???? sitting around at work, waiting for a mission, and trying to decide if i really want to turn my wrist rocket into a "slingbow"... decisions, decisions...

Spent the weekend getting ready for the storm that hit us Monday night, got my little plow all ready yo go (don't mock me KVR!), stacked some wood, stuff like that. 11 degrees when I woke up Tues morning & still snowing. When I got home we had about 9 inches with drifts of 18-20, so the plow got its first run of the season. This weekend I have to get about another cord & a half up. Already have 2 split & stacked but time got away from me. All the wood is from my property, I have probably more than I need already down & I just need to buck it up, bring it down, and split it.

Trying to talk MrsMedic into letting me put a wood stove in the garage but she is convinced that I will some how burn the place down :(

I've been on the road trimming horses. On Friday I head down to Florida to take my last class (which hopefully I will pass) to become a licensed instructor for the school.

I got some contour lines mapped out on my property with a homemade A-frame level. Dug out about 8 feet of my first swale and seeded it with vetch, mustard and winter pea. It might be too late to get anything growing but it doesn't hurt to try. Also got an email that my almond tree is on its way. Glad I got the swale started!

how long does it take for the almonds to fruit? You keep improving the lot, you aren't going to want to move!

The almonds should take about 3-4 years.

Yeah, I think at this point we're committed to staying here for a while. It's OK, I have a great lot and after the PDC I'm looking at it a different way. I ordered 20+ fruiting plants and nitrogen builders the other night and they're coming in April. The new coop is just about done and I'm still trying to work the whole goat angle. If I get a nice pond or two I think I might want to stay forever...or at least until I cant afford it anymore.
