Do you want a revolution? Because that's how you get a revolution.

...all empires fall...the Romans had a good run for a long time...I can't imagine what would happen if there was ever a move to dis-arm America...it would be a nightmare.

It cannot be done. There isn't the money or the manpower to go door to door and physically confiscate weapons. It would be a nightmare. Like Iraq x1000.

I have quite a few friends that are LEO, we have had this discussion before, none of them would enforce it if it came to that.

...and how could they enforce it in reality...many of them would end up getting shot most likely...the thing that scares me is what would the military do?, would they fire on fellow citizens?

I would like to say no, but Kent state proves otherwise.

Like I said, it'll never happen. That's the LAST thing they want. We like to think our politicians are stupid and clueless. Many of them are pretty crafty, and their military advisers will tell them exactly what's going to happen if they go that route. There's something like 3 million guns in the hands of private citizens. That's absolutely overwhelming force for any army in the world. The private citizens of the US would become the largest army in the history of war.
