I would like to say no, but Kent state proves otherwise.

Like I said, it'll never happen. That's the LAST thing they want. We like to think our politicians are stupid and clueless. Many of them are pretty crafty, and their military advisers will tell them exactly what's going to happen if they go that route. There's something like 3 million guns in the hands of private citizens. That's absolutely overwhelming force for any army in the world. The private citizens of the US would become the largest army in the history of war.

DD, I agree the politicians don't want anything like this...my concern is that all it really takes is one fanatical solider to do something stupid out there and we wind up with a lot of people dead...not necessarily a revolution but a decent sized mess.

He was very conservative...he interpreted the Constitution the way he thought the Founding Fathers would...I don't think Obama will pick anyone close to that...in the next 4 years it is expexted that 2 if not 3 of the Justices will need to be replaced...big difference between Sanders/Hillary and Trump or whomever gets in.

I think it would be next to impossible for him to get someone approved before he is out of office, it does change the whole dynamics of this race

I can't see them being able to stall it a year.  They were talking numbers on the radio the other day, and not confirming one for a whole year is virtually unheard of.

Lines are drawn and barbed wire is up.  Should 'we' appoint a new Justice now or wait till after the election.  Depends on your agenda.  This clip shows how self serving and partisan the politicos are...all about what suits their interest and is convenient.

(kind of like student loans...I want the money now, I just don't think it's fair that I have to pay it back)
