Greetings, small world.  I am off the Bingham exit on 10 acres.  When you start building the bermed house I would love to visit and see the progress.  I think in 2-3 years I will do mine.

I saw you mention both Little Rock and Cabot. No idea where the Bingham exit is. You may well begin yours before I start on mine. If you're visiting, expect to be handed a shovel. lol

I saw the pictures of your house. All that cedar is breathtaking.

Yes, I do indeed plan to build practice structures. I figured I'd begin with test blocks to get the mixture right, then something small to abuse and test cohesion, then a small storage shed. Then once I'm comfortable, test arches, and test vaults.

A root cellar will come in time, and the main house will be started when I know that what will be built will be a safe structure. I've no intention of having tons of earth collapsing in on top of me.

Right now, I'll happily settle for a driveway and stream crossing, building site and pond. One step at a time.

Ah! So you ended up buying south of LR not north. I looked in a radius around LR, but am glad I found something north as that's where nearly everyone I know is.

Yes, a process indeed. I was originally thinking I'd have broken ground by now but my stream keeps getting a recharge from the rains. Now I'm thinking July or August and hoping the stream will have gone dry by then. Its ironic. I should be thrilled that its run so continuously this year. I love when the stream runs, but I need it to go dry for construction to begin on the stream crossing.
