Hi All,

My name is Sam and my husband and I are finally starting to entertain the idea of homesteading. We live in a suburb just outside of Boston and are looking to buy land in lower/western Maine. I've been scouring realtor websites but everything is so expensive! Realistically we are looking for 2-5 acres but within a reasonable driving distance back to Boston, due to having all of our family located here. Areas I've been looking into are Brownfield, Lebanon, Sanford... I read somewhere else that looking up the towns land registrar and contacting large landowners individually to see if they would be willing to sell a couple of acres would be one way to go, but I was wondering if anyone else that is located in Maine had any other resources to offer? Specific realty websites?

Welcome @mrsjelly85 , we live in maine outside bangor, on my phone right now but will post some links later when on a pc. @mainelybjj is in the lewiston auburn area, he might have some suggestions as well.
