Hello. I'm Chucki the Parrothead. New to homesteading and to this site. Dh and I will be proud owners of what is (I think) considered a mini-farm. We are lacto-ovo vegetarians, and new at that too. Our lives are getting turned upside down pretty quickly. We are doing to to ourselves on purpose. I homeschool our pre-teen dd who is going into 8th grade this fall.
That would be the pertinent stuff about me. Looking forward to reading and learning lots. Right now I don't even know enough to ask an intelligent question. So off to learn.

I'm sure you have. We are the vegetarians that will eat eggs and dairy. We get eggs from our friend and hopefully later we will have our own happy chickens. Our dairy products come from the local dairy.
I'm not sure what we will do there. I can't see buying a cow for milk and sending her baby off to become someone's dinner. Yet, I don't know about having a herd either. We have some decisions to make. We are opposed to factory farming of animals. We will grow our own produce next summer. Hopefully over the next few years we will be able to grow our own fruit and grains.
I haven't found the recipe forum yet. Maybe today.
