I'm not sure. Mom always said I was anti-social but the ol'man said I was like almost every male on his side of the family. I have a very tight circle of friends but an even tighter circle of family. I can open up,laugh, joke and carry on with both circles but if there is very many folks around that are outside those circles I aint got much to say.

Talking with folks on the internet is a lot easier sometimes. Maybe because it's easier to voice my thoughts to strangers because I'm writing them down....I don't know. I reckon I'm an "inny". But I don't think of it as a bad thing.

agreed OSH, I am, my father is. But She is a 16 year old girl who thinks there is something wrong just because she prefers to sit in her room and read, then go hang out with people. She get's really stressed around people lately and she is concerned because she is graduating in 2 years and wants to go to college and the thought of that stresses her out even more. I try telling here that there's nothing wrong with that, don't know if I'm getting through to her

Sounds like she has the right idea as far as her interests go. If I were here Id keep right on doing what she is doing. Reading, learning, thinking.

College isnt much like HS from what I see. Much more freedom. Much easier to bond with people who think like you do.

As an introvert myself, I can say the most annoying thing is people trying to fix it or always asking "whats wrong".
