How was the recovery? With they out of commision for awhile? My mother in law is having her's replaced next week and my wife is flying down for three weeks to help out. Will she be relatively mobile after that amount of time or should we plan on more?

My wife's grandmother had hers done a few years back.  About the same time as My mom and my father in law had their knees replaced.

The hip recovery seemed to go way easier than the knees did.  Good luck!

My grandfather had both knees replaced at the same time. Recovery was about 8 weeks. But they had him up and walking within hours of the surgery ending.

I'm not sure how similar it will be with a hip. But yeah. If she follows the doctor's instructions to the letter recovery aught to be faster.

one thing that freaks me out is one time I had an 80 year old woman in having lunch a week after her hip surgery. As she was eating her hip popped out, we had to call an ambulance, the screams still haunt me.
