@cj isn't asking for a 10000 word prose.
In my experience employees always think they are worth more and employers always think they are worth less. The hard part is finding the middle ground that both parties are happy with.
I can touch base more on this later when I am on a pc.

Thank you KVR. And yes. Everyone would love to Be paid more for their labor. And yes. Often times employers would love to pay less. But employers know there is a trade-off with paying less. Take my current employer for example. I'm sure if they could get away with paying nothing they would. But know that they have to pay top dollar to attract the type of talent they want.
They pay on average 3 bucks more an hour than the other companies in town because they expect more. And they get it. If they paid less then they would get less.
Now. Lets see who can put the pieces together.
I'mm a millwright there making 28 an hour. A person working in building maintenance (janitor) is making 18. We have a gentleman working that 18 dollar an hour job who has thirty years experience in hydraulic systems. He could easily be a mechanic here. Am I putting forth any more effort than he is on any given day? No. He works his tail off just like I do. But the job he is performing requires fewer skills than mine. My job is a technical one. Even though he could do a job there that is similar in pay with this company, he isn't doing it yet.
Should he suddenly demand that he be paid 28 an hour because he knows things that his current job does not require?

No, but it's no secret that I tend to quite detail oriented and verbose. If we all saw the same thing in every post and all took similar tacks there'd be nothing to discuss. For what I see in the post to reply to, there is a lot. Beyond that, I also see it as something that will balloon from that first rather than draw towards conclusion. There sometimes comes a point of diminishing returns. It had already been approaching that. While neither DD nor I intended miscommunications, it happened. We straightened it out, but frankly its no fun walking on eggshells. Not for the sake of fragility, but in the interest of board harmony. DD and I each clarified and that was all. Then it went from feeling like it was coming to a close to a new potential rabbit's hole.
I decided to politely bow out of this one. CJ's timing as I already indicated just came late.

I can appreciate wanting to keep things civil on this forum. And I am new here so I haven't exactly found the exact tone here yet. But I can say that I do not offend easily and am of the firm mindset that a person should not enter into a debate if they do not have the intention of addressing the points others have brought up.
No I do not expect anyone to devote every waking second to a debate online. But I do expect folks to not only be honest with their debate but also have the ability to admit when they do not have an answer to a question.
Obscuration is not a valid debate tactic. Neither is detraction. If you are unwilling to back your position then it is best to simply remain mute.

Seriously? That is pretty cool, what all do you do as a millwright?
*edited cause I quoted the wrong person on my phone*

There's a lot of carryover with this company. So I work outside the typical millwright job description here. Everything from machine setup and repair to fabricating and modinew and existing fixtures. And today I have the illustrious job of setting up the New shelving (where's the eyeroll emojie?)
With this company mechanics are also operators. So if something breaks between machines it falls on me since they're busy keeping their individual machines running.
