I somehow managed to crack my screen, I don't keep track of new phones coming out, they seem to change every 6 months, but I did see the ad for the new kindle phone last night, anyone know anything about it?
I am concerned though that right now I have unlimited data and if verizon is going to cut it to a data limit if I change my phone
the option then would be to switch to straight talk, anyone use them?

Straight talk works well but they don't allow roaming like Verizon. Verizon has their own prepaid carrier called PagePlus, we use them and they work well.
BTW for some phones you can buy new screens cheap off eBay. I replaced nearly every component on my iPhone 4S off of ebay for $30.

Is the screen cracked and you can still use the touch screen? If so then the digitizer is good you just have to replace the cracked screen. I have done this on two tablets and it was pretty easy. I would recommend youtubing your phone screen replacement and it will walk you through everything you need. I used Ebay to find my screens and bought a little 5 dollar tool set for phones. Getting a new phone is a good idea to as there are some awesome phones out now. Is it the Note that has a huge screen and stylus?, cuz that's the one I want. Heard Joe Rogan saying it was an amazing phone and he rarely uses his laptop now because of it.
If you do get a new phone try to fix the broke one, it's always good to have extras laying around.
The Amazon phone has been described by many as a total failure. Its too expensive, that is a given.
If you want an Android, you want the Nexus 5. It is "pure" Android, so to speak.
Apple is Apple. You get what you get with them.
Then there is Windows Phone.
I use Straight Talk. They allow you to bring any device to their service. Its $45 a month for unlimited.
Let me add...you can bring virtually any phone to ST.
I bought a GoPhone for $50 that is $100 or more for the "unlocked" version. This phone is supposed to work with AT&T GoPhone service. But I popped my SIM card into it from ST and it worked. I just had to configure the APN, which sounds tech-y but its actually really easy.
$50 phone on a $45 plan.
It seems like phones are good for a year and you are lucky to get two years most times.
I feel like I won the phone game.
