I'm so glad you posted to this again.  I saw this recently and forgot that quick.

Dave Canterbury was promoting this on his Facebook page.  Apparently he's going to be writing for them.

I have looked for many books and the like trying to figure out which book or piece of material would help me learn more and more about this subject in greater detail. I've looked for local classes as I believe practical exercises are always the bet way to go with a live person that knows what they are doing. The problem is I have to pay out the ass for an "experience" in the outdoors as well and thats just not happening.

Anyone have a book or certain video that really goes into detail to trap animals? I'm really looking for rabbits, squirrel, and other small game all the way up to hogs.

Thanks

Hello, I was asked by a friend to discuss trapping with the people on the website. I am a trapper and have been most of my life, I can and would be happy to teach any of you that would like about trapping. That being said, there are 2 kinds of trapping, 1 for sport or fur harvesting, and 2 for food/survival. I am guessing from what I know about the folks on this site the second is what you are looking for. Now I do not want anyone getting upset with anything I have to say about anything to do with these subjects. I do not care if you are a "prepper","survivialist", or any other label someone may use, I truely could care less. I know trapping and I am willing to provide information and poss. even a class or 2 if it will help people out. I will do my best answer any questions I can as far as trapping, fur handling and even food prep of God's creatures if I can. Oh and as a side note if you are looking for someone who is pc, I am not your guy! Now if you want to know about trapping and snaring, hunting or a number of other outdoor type things I can help. Thanks Infidel-1

have any outdoors-man shows coming up? Might also be a good place for contacts

A great web site to look for help is the MTPCA, it is not a great website, but if you ask there are years and decades of knowledge on trapping. The downside is like I said this is not a sexy website and it make take a few for someone to get back with you. I am a trapper myself and will try to help any of you out that I can.

Trapping is an art, but it is one that most can learn and do ok at, if you are looking to use this for food/clothing/permaculture/survival, there are a few things you will need to know and own. Traqpping for this type of use is both very differnt and the same as fur harvesting. I know that sounds confusing but there is method to my maddness. I have been a trapper for most of my life, I have used the fur and even eaten many of the critters I have caught. I will do my best to answer ?? on the subject and steer all of you in the right direction.

My grandfather would tell me about trapping when he was a kid, so as I got older i just started, I was always out in the woods any way. It was kind of a calling, not to sound corny, but it just felt natural even when I really did not know what i was doing. I learned alot of it on my own through trial and error.
