Best Place To Buy Silver Online

Where is the best place to buy silver online? I get this question often.

A lot of people are being bombarded with messages that they should be investing in precious metals for a large amount of different reasons; Armageddon, collapse of the dollar, preservation of wealth, etc.

I do set aside a small amount of money each month for a few reasons, but a shtf scenario is not one of them.

Personally in a shtf, I would rather be the person that has the chickens, pigs, etc that might trade for a shiny piece of metal.

That’s why first and foremost, we invest in ourselves through knowledge, building a barn, getting chickens, so and so forth.

If you are on a site that is pushing you to buy precious metals to be able to weather any storm that may or might not happen, I would close the tab and delete it from my history.

Invest in yourself first before you invest in a piece of metal pulled out of the ground.

But if you are to the point where you want to, I decided to look at four of the larger sites on the web that you can purchase silver from and do a comparison of them.

Here are the four sites I chose.

http://goldsilver.com/

http://www.gainesvillecoins.com/

http://www.apmex.com/

http://www.jmbullion.com/

So say you want to buy just one coin, well then you can not order from jmbullion.com or goldsilver.com, JM has a 100 dollar minimum order and goldsilver has a 20 piece minimum.

All prices are as of 4/30/2014

Apmex

Now Apmex doesn’t show their shipping charge of 9.95, so Gainesvillecoins wins this one.

So Let’s say we want to order five coins.

JMBullion

Again, Apmex is not showing their shipping costs, but even not accounting for that, JMBullion is the winner for this one.

Let’s check a comparison on twenty coins which will bring goldsilver into the contest.

Apmex, again, price does not include the shipping shown.

JMBullion

goldsilver

Again, the winner is JMBullion.

For the big spenders out there, lets kick it up a notch and see what 100 coins would do.

Again, JMBullion is the winner.

I would check local shops first. I find it much cheaper to buy junk silver at spot locally, but at 4-5 dollars over spot for eagles, I find it better to buy on line.

This is not a advertisement for investments, if it was up to me you should be spending money on chickens.
