DIY Animal Trailer

Here is a easy way to make a DIY animal trailer, we had been looking to buy a animal trailer on craigslist for awhile. We have had to track one down the past several years to take our animals to slaughter. We had a old lawn trailer sitting out back and my buddy said, why not make that into a animal trailer? So we did, we moved it into his garage

we removed the front and back panels

and welded up a rail out of square tubing

and welded that on top of the side rail

we did the same on the other side and welded up the roof rails

we bent over some metal

and spot welded to hold in place

and added another piece and drilled and screwed the perimeter and the seam

we put the front panel back on and welded the corners

we welded some hinges on the back panel

closes fine

and welded on a simple pin lock

and it opens well

we cut out a arch

and welded it up onto the ends

and painted it up, we used a liner product for the outside of the roof

we cut some expanded metal to fill in the gaps

the back part we just bolted on in case we want to remove it to load the lawn mower or such

I’m pretty happy with it

it should serve us well
