Mudding is what I was referring to, sorry for the ambiguity.

That mentality is what we've got here as well. I'd actually like to do the remote aspect sooner rather than later, then move into the city where we're not hindered as much by things like driving and caring for ourselves. Korea for example has a great public transportation system so once you pass your prime, you can still take advantage of the fruits of the country without ever having to drive.

yeah it's the way I was raised, my great uncle took care of of my great grandparents, when it became too much, my grandparents moved into the old farmhouse with great grandfather and great uncle, when he passed, grandparents sold farmhouse and built a new home bringing my great uncle with them, we have always had multi-generational in our family homes except for the last generation, I'm trying to change that trend.

Great work! I'm always impressed with your speed. Do you do the texturing yourself as well or just the drywall and taping?

thanks, I've had a lot of help on this from friends, newsettler has been a ton of help. Do you mean mudding?

Its my pleasure to help out!

You said above:  "trying to prepare for anything that may come in the future as well with this", may I ask what things you think may come? I am always interested in planning and thinking for the future and for all things I do to serve multiple purposes.

Well my father has lived with us the last 15 years, I believe in taking care of the generation before, our daughter has picked that mentaility up.

My wife and I have 30 remote acres that we want to build a cabin on to live in the next couple years. The house and property would then become our daughters, it is her's anyways at some point. If I happen to pass before my wife I am not sure she will want to live alone off the grid in the woods, so this would then become her residence.

I am the same way.  I took total care of my father until he passed. Very hard but it was my way of honoring him.

Didn't know you were going to head to the woods for a cabin...wonderful.

well, got the doors built and up for the workshop

Doesn't look half bad

got the stairwell all ready for treads, should get that knocked out today

Going to spend all day tomorrow cleaning and disposing of debris and should be ready for paint, stain, flooring, finish the electrical and she'll be ready to start moving in.

What about security for her? Guns, turret, flamethrower? She will be away from the house.

Well the front door still has door jamb armor and 3m security film on it, so she is covered as far as a break in, the motion lights on the side of the house go off when anyone approaches, she has a 3 way switch in her bedroom to turn on all exterior lights on the building, she will have the voice alert 6 base unit up there that my dad had, still debating the security camera, half of ours cover her building. Thinking of wiring a 12 v alarm siren with a toggle switch in her room that she can hit in case of emergency.
